THE 1,063 POUND SHARK

On the 19th April the crew of the boat Sea Ya Later II was fishing between Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach. Suddenly they found a twelve foot and six inch shark eating a dolphin at almost 500 yards away from them. After some hard working, they had to call another ship that was fishing calmly near the Pensacola beach so that they could help them bring the fish to the shore. The captain of the Sea Ya Later II said the following, "If (the shark) hadn’t been as tired as she was, this boat would be sitting on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico".

After arriving at the port, the weighted the shark and they all became very joyful. The shark had a weight of 1,063 pounds. This shark can occupy the record for thirty pound class. A few days later, Jim Roberson said: "I’m investigating it as a world record". Jim Roberson is a member who represents the International Game Fish Association.
